About Us

Parenting is undeniably one of the most rewarding yet difficult tasks one can take on- but you don’t have to do it alone. I am a staunch supporter of gathering support and guidance from trusted sources, so both you and your child feel cared for and secure.

At Thrive Kids, we work with young people to ensure their psychological well-being and promote emotional, social and academic growth, so they can achieve their fullest potential. We are eager to offer our understanding and provide a safe space for you and your family. Our services include therapy and behaviour coaching. We work with children who may be struggling with early childhood developmental delays, attachment issues, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, eating disorders, learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. On top of being counsellors, we are also coaches and educators, able to bridge the gap between parents and schools. We are here to help your child Thrive!

  • Registered Counsellor

Dr. Shaista is a certified children’s counsellor life coach and works with clients to build self-esteem, manage anxiety and develop the heart-mind. She is the author of the book BACK HOME; which has received accolades nationwide.

During the pandemic, The Thrive Kids Virtual Early Learning Academy was born out of the need for young students to engage in a preschool curriculum from the safety of their own homes. Four days a week, students from the US and Canada join Shaista as she virtually teaches them academic concepts such as early literacy, early numeracy and soft skills such as collaboration, mindfulness and communication. Shaista continues to help children reach early academic goals for young children through consultation with parents and schools.

Thrive Mommy is a program that has been developed by Dr. Shaista, where she facilitates important discussions around mental health, coping strategies and finding purpose through passion. As a result of Dr. Shaista’s ability to target all members of the community, Dr. Shaista has been able to reach a vast array of individuals throughout Canada and the US.

Thrive Babies is a program that began as a direct result of the lack of accessibility to programs for babies and mothers born during the pandemic. Through virtual, live classes, video lessons and tactile sensory packages, Dr. Shaista has been able to fill a massive gap and dire need. Thrive Babies, through the use of the sensory package, enables all participants, regardless of background to come together, connect and learn as one with equal opportunity.

Helping kids and families THRIVE is her passion!
